# 325 “Action Time”

Once upon a time there was a special place called Europe. After the Renaissance, art, literature, music and culture blossomed and architecture awed all comers. By the turn of the 20th century, small countries – many with royal families – sparked interest across the globe. As transportation changed, sail morphed into steam and transatlantic liners were common. For many Americans, such travel was seeing the places from which their grandparents came.

Sarajevo marked a turning point, and World War I claimed countless lives. Consider France. Even today every village and town has a monument commemorating the young lives lost in that conflict. Calm did not last long. When the Third Reich aimed at taking over the continent, World War II raged for years.

France, the sole country to come to the aid of the American Colonists in their fight to wrench themselves from the control of the British Crown, now found that America came to her aid, launching the largest land invasion at Normandy and after bloody battles, finally wrenching Nazis from Paris. American cemeteries still draw visitors 80+ years later.

Moving along, America helped Europe rebuild after World War II. Interest sparked once again, and people began to travel Europe, in peacetime. One could travel easily among countries, checking in at each border and meandering to the exchange desk where monies were issued for shelter or shopping. Borders were sacrosanct and defended, not so much for invading armies but for checking just who came and went.

To my view, the current situation we witness began with the dissolution of borders and the instituting of a common currency. What had been for centuries a group of individual nations with specific language, culture and monies now melted into a poor amalgam of what had been a spectacular area.

Ten years ago, borders were suddenly, and misguidedly open to one and all. Instead of North Africa and the Middle East considered rare and unique, hordes of people with disparate habits and beliefs now rushed across the borders of European countries. Things began to disintegrate quickly.

What we see today in France is a precursor to what we could see here in short order. With the aim to destroy Western culture, the dangerous mix of Islam and Communism has no place here. Yet, we see it in many of our cities now. Young people, many of whom were not born on 9/11, have no idea what they have been led into in terms of beliefs. With no background in factual history – American or world – they are not equipped to just the danger they face. They are easily swayed by the empty promises that only result in the equality of everyone being poor. There is no place on the planet that it has worked.

Nobody wants to see their country in a real quandary, yet we are there now. As the beautiful Limoges Town Hall lies in ruins, burned to the ground, where will the rioters strike next? The Louvre, Versailles, Mont Michel?

There is a difference between leadership and what I deem “weedership.” Macron fits the latter. We need to take heed. The pattern is clear. What cannot be defeated from without is vulnerable within. Seed enough dissidents and socialists (communists) from within and the rot is inevitable. You have only to look at the DAS candidates to see it. Danger looms and Americans need to recognize the peril posed in this midterm election.

We can only hope that Americans go to the polls and follow the advice of Todd Beamer’s father. Todd, you recall was the passenger among Flight 93 who prompted others to take down the plane long thought to have been aimed at the U.S. Capitol. His call rings out over the last 25 years, “Let’s roll!”

“Forget the party, vote for America.”

Pray that it happens. We are at risk and it is real.
